Apparently Jerry has run his list of neighbors he can call on in a jam pretty short. But who can blame him? More than once I’ve contemplated stealing my neighbor Hap’s mailbox.
Banning Scientologists and Jehovah’s from my lawn is something I’ve needed to do for a long time.
Impressive picture created from over 220 individual still shots taken during the inauguration this week. You can almost count the nose-hairs on most of the dignitaries up front.
Since it is a combination of photos you will see a few abnormalities. Like Aretha Franklin’s goatee. Or guys with four eyes, two faces and even a hat without a head. Truthfully, Aretha Franklin may have a goatee and I just didn’t know it. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas took the time for a nice siesta while Yo-Yo Ma utilized all 2 Megapixels of his white iPhone 3G to capture the moment. You can also spot snipers more than a mile or two away. Check the buildings on the horizon and the Smithsonian Castle (church-like building on the far right).

Before I saw a single news headline or heard anything about it, I saw a flickr image of the plane in the Hudson today taken from a camera-phone by a person on the boat sent to rescue the passengers.
It made it to Twitter and then copied to Flickr within minutes and spread like wildfire from there.
Kudos to the pilot for saving lives. Kudos to the photographer for the shot and the share. Kudos to the net for changing the way I consume and learn.

I’ve actually know about the open source Muxtape alternative called Opentape for a while but it wasn’t until this evening that I actually sat down to set it up.
While not having the fantastic ability to jump from favorited playlist to playlist, it does capture the simplistic nature of the original.
Opentape is self hosted, meaning that all of the files are on my server thus potentially not running as efficiently as Muxtape once did. While it will never fully fill the hole left in your heart when Muxtape was overthrown, let me know if you’d like your own Opentape set up to share some songs and I will get it ready for you.
Note: Let me know if you see an error on first load. It has something to do with the Flash player behind the Opentape and not the Opentape itself. If you hit the continue button it should go away and the tracks will play fine.
There’s no chance I would ever even claim to want to attempt something like this but it is crazy to watch.

Two things of note:
1. I love Vimeo. They do video better than any site out there.
2. I’m sorry for the lack of any communication the last few days. My MBP is at the doctor and I probably should have taken a trip myself. Working off this Dell reminds me constantly why the Mac market grows daily.
