Gowalla
iPhone owners, sign up for and play Gowalla. It was created by a local shop here in town called Alamofire who incidentally also launched a pretty new website (and stole my idea for page scrolling) this week and also happen to have a dotcomrade of mine on staff. If you have facebook, they also made a game called PackRat. Apparently it was big and fun.
Google Voice
Only available to those who made the beta of Grand Central (unfortunately, not me) right now, Google is rolling out a new feature that will have both Skype and your local phone company banging their heads on their respective desks. Voicemail, central numbers that all forward to, Voicemail transcribed to your email inbox and text messaging are just a few of the features they boast. World domination to continue.

A couple of guys from CollegeHumor.com have had a long standing prank war going on dating back a few years. In what I thought was the pinnacle of their war, last year Amir scheduled an engagement proposal for Streeter and his then girlfriend.
It took almost a year and a half (and the loss of said girlfriend) but I think Streeter got his revenge…
A major player in the world of web (both design and programming) was looking to adopt his third child along with his wife in the near future, the future came a little sooner than expected.

Through the use of twitter, in 12 hours he’s almost hit the $2,000 mark (13% of his goal). Pretty good for a campaign slated to go through April 18th.
There’s got to be a business model for twitter somewhere out there…
