Designing a logo

I don’t hide the fact that Adobe Illustrator and I aren’t necessarily friends. I’ve never been one to have the ability to draw much. And for being a related field, I feel like I should be better at logo design, but it just isn’t my forte.

Which is probably why videos like the following capture my attention so much. It’s 6 minutes long so you might just want to jump through some of it as it goes. It really gets interesting to watch once the logo creation gets started. And jump through to Mattson’s site to see the other renditions and final results.

Master of the Universe

I’m hoping at this point all I am doing is reminding you to check your feeds for the latest Abstract City by Christoph Niemann and not having to coerce you into finally adding it to your reading list. Do it.

His latest, Master of the Universe, isn’t quite his best work but still much better than most anything you’ll read on the web these days.

My wife can attest that I have some of the same tendencies when watching the Mavs or Cowboys among other things. Upon seeing that a certain sitting or standing position has had a positive (or negative) affect on the game I will more than likely end up holding it until its time for another team boost. It works, I’m convinced.

Mad Men - Season 3

I’d tell you to get your TiVo’s set but I kind of enjoy the fact that most don’t watch it for some strange reason. But I will start to wonder how you could possibly not begin watching after seeing the season 3 promo: (more…)

It’s another Improv Everywhere post

I can’t get enough of the Improv Everywhere guys and the things they pull off. I love the fact that they put so much preparation and effort into each stunt and the fact that there isn’t a malicious intent in anything they do.

This time around they put together a surprise wedding reception for a happy couple who just visited the Justice of the Peace.

From the groomsmen and bridesmaids to the first dance with an older fellow that looks to be a stand-in for the bride’s father, they really don’t miss on the details.
