for Tacia Aspen…

read through this here weblog at all and you will notice that one of my few consistent readers is my cousin Aspen. She herself is an accomplished blogger and has plenty of good things to say. I hadn’t noticed though (til she brought it to my attention) that apparently she has a much wider readership than I can claim. Upon a recent getaway to ALB, she and her uber-talented husband Logan were able to enjoy a concert of Brad Paisley/Jack Ingram and others. According to Aspen, Jack Ingram was a bit inebriated on stage and she happened to mention it in her write-up of the show.

Apparently, Jack Google’s. And he didn’t really take too kindly to being called out on it. You can read it all here. His comments are at the bottom. Way to go Aspen, you’re reaching celebrity status. (more…)

Thanks. No.

This is possibly the funniest thing I may see all week: Thanks. No.

No question, every single email user in the history of the internet could have found use at some point or another. Every single one.

Other email thoughts:

Mike Davidson has implemented his new email solution at: five.sentenc.es. I’m not sure it would work for me with every email but I do find myself writing ‘novels’ far too often.

Thoughts on the 5 sentence email?

My other 2 cents: Read requests/notifications should be put to rest. It’s the equivalent of me requiring a return phone call from your cell provider at the time you check your voicemail. Is it that important to you to know exactly when I open your email? Could possibly be in the top 10 worst inventions of the digital era.

Water weekend…

I imagine (and hope) our weekend will be a wet one as we have grocery shopped, arrived, and settled in for a nice weekend on the lake. A special thanks to the Huston family for their generosity and willingness to allow us some relaxation time here while they are in Hawaii. I am sure an early morning wake-board run plus time spent on the jet-ski’s are in order. It ain’t Hawaii but it sure is nice.

Yes, I do have my office here with me so I will be working as well, but how could you complain about a little work with a view like the one I have?

Update: Mel received good news today in her results from the testing on Wednesday. Her arms are a little bruised from the needles but everything is in order and there doesn’t seem to be any sign of diabetes. Thanks for any/all prayers offered. We celebrated the results with some Blue Bell ice cream sandwiches this evening.

Enjoy your weekend, I plan on enjoying mine…
