So I signed up for Muxtape about 3 hours after it launched but I hadn’t ever had a chance/taken time to get mine in order. No more. With over 100,000 created in the first week, I decided to catch up.

No need for explanation other than to say that it took time for me to put mine together. I put thought into it. And I picked songs that were a step out for me. No Jack. Nobody from Brushfire Records. No Coldplay. I crossed genres, artists (only duped one) and genders. Autumn: A Feist song even almost made the cut, maybe on the next round. Edit: Updated due to the logic of one Tai Autumn.

I still have two slots open, one of which I know what I want to fill it with. Any suggestions for the last spot?

When I share music with somebody, it’s usually something I think is worth listening to and ask them to put it to the 3 (or 5) listen test. There’s not much music that can catch you with one listen. I’ve only seen it on rare occasion. 3 listens is all I ask if you are serious about getting some new music. I know it won’t be worth it for everyone, but there are a select few that will get it.

Wait. You’ve got TWO spots left and you’re still gonna deny Feist?? Not fair.
Which song were you contemplating, btw? I could recommend a few if you’re interested.

You are correct. Sad choice on my part. Although I must admit, it’s not Feist straight up. I actually don’t know what the original sounds like. Just this version.

    One spot left…

    YES!!! I WIN I WIN!!!
You’re gonna like girl bands when I’m through with you.

I would like them, if they were good. Like Journey.

Ok. I officially hate not having IM at work.
The ironic part is, I’ve never heard this version…it’s a little too rave-y for me. The original is better.

Ok. I have one more suggestion for the muxtape. I think you should always put your favorite…or one of your favorites on every mux you make. A song you could listen to over and over again and never get tired of it. It’s just a nice way to round out the mux. I listened to it at work, which isn’t a great way to listen to new music because it’s low, and you don’t really know the songs, so it’s hard to get a feel for them. But I really liked a couple of them and will pledge to get my requested 3-5 listenings in this weekend. Thanks for the IM again!!

Ok. Since apparently I’m the only one who cares about your muxtape…I listened to it all day yesterday and…I’m a convert! I loved it…I loved every. last. song. I knew you wouldn’t steer me wrong. Well done.

You don’t know how happy that makes me.

I finally added my 12th song tonight. I know you’re not a fan of instrumental songs but this one is worth it. And there are lyrics starting about half way through. But some songs just take time to build.

    Ready to start your mux?
